Coldcard hardware wallet flaw linked to $88.6 million in Bitcoin losses

A Coldcard firmware flaw has been linked to Bitcoin sweeps. In the initial 41-minute event, 1,082.65 BTC worth about $70.2 million was taken from 1,196 addresses. Galaxy Research later identified two additional suspected waves and raised its observed estimate to 1,367.05 BTC, worth about $88.6 million, across 4,585 addresses. Galaxy said the activity remains ongoing, but it has not computationally confirmed that every identified address was generated with weak Coldcard entropy.
