Georgia Power, Alabama Power data breach affects roughly 400,000 customer accounts — 07.10.2026

Southern Company said that an unauthorized third party accessed limited information from roughly 400,000 customer accounts through its online customer portal. Approximately 300,000 affected accounts belonged to Georgia Power customers and 100,000 to Alabama Power customers. Mississippi Power was also identified as affected, but no customer figure was released.
