New Interrupt Injection Attack Can Bypass Spectre v2 Defenses on Intel and AMD CPUs
MIT CSAIL researchers described an interrupt-injection technique that times a hardware interrupt to occur between sanitizing the processor's branch predictor and the kernel using it. This may allow an unprivileged Linux program with local code execution to re-poison the predictor and cause data leakage through speculative execution.
