CERT24Microsoft enables Windows settings backup by default for organizations
Microsoft announced that Windows settings backup and restore is now enabled by default on Microsoft Entra-joined or Microsoft Entra hybrid-joined enterprise systems upgraded to Windows 11 version 26H2. The default applies only when an administrator has not explicitly configured the policy and the device is in a country or region not regulated by the EU Digital Markets Act and is not in a sovereign or restricted cloud environment.
