CIFSwitch Linux vulnerability enables privilege escalation

A Linux kernel CIFS subsystem vulnerability, CVE-2026-46243, may allow a local unprivileged user to gain root privileges. Distributions shipping vulnerable combinations of the kernel and cifs-utils may be affected.
