Man gave scammers both his and his wife’s bank cards and lost over €20,000

Police were notified of 36 phone and internet scams on 27 and 28 October, causing at least €62,715 in damage. In one case, a man gave scammers his and his wife’s bank cards, and the initial loss was estimated at €21,150. In another case, fraudsters persuaded a woman to invest and take out loans over several years; the initial loss was approximately €20,000.
