Researchers linked the Iranian group that destroyed LA Metro data to a state intelligence service

According to the SecurityAffairs source, analysis by Gambit Security, ClearSky Cyber Security, and researcher Simon Kenin linked the infrastructure and activity of Ababil of Minab to Black Shadow, which Israel’s National Cyber Directorate attributed to Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS). The group claimed to have attacked the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, erased hundreds of terabytes of data, and stolen more than a terabyte of files. The source also describes other affected organizations and data exfiltration.
