French bank confirms cyber heist; hackers suspected of stealing an estimated $133 million

Crédit Mutuel Arkéa confirmed it experienced a sophisticated attack in which the attackers used the bank’s own account to make transfers after compromising an unnamed supplier. The bank said customer accounts were not accessed and customers’ assets were not affected. The estimated stolen amount has not been finally established, but the bank validated its order of magnitude.
