MantaxOtax Android Malware Combines Ransomware With Spyware

MantaxOtax combines file encryption with extensive surveillance on Android devices. It can restrict access to infected devices and steal messages, credentials and device data. Zimperium’s zLabs linked the malware to Indonesian threat actors; some samples appeared to have been distributed through a third-party file-sharing service.
