Charter Communications data breach affects 4.9 million accounts

Charter Communications confirmed a security incident in which Have I Been Pwned identified 4.9 million affected accounts. ShinyHunters claimed responsibility, but Charter has not attributed the attack. Charter said that no sensitive personal information or customer proprietary network information (CPNI) was exfiltrated. After the ransom demand was rejected, the group published the stolen documents on its dark web leak site.
