Researchers at Hudson Rock said cybercriminals hijacked HBO Max’s verified Reddit account and used it to run 108 malicious ads over roughly 48 hours. The ads promoted fake AI tools, developer software, and macOS utilities and used the ClickFix social engineering technique, which tricks users into pasting and running a command on their own device.
