Binance hit by record $6.3 billion cryptocurrency theft

Binance said attackers stole $6.3 billion worth of funds in an attack on Thursday evening. In its post-mortem, the company traced the incident to a compromised laptop belonging to an engineer, which gave the attacker access to systems enabling unauthorized withdrawal transactions. Other cryptocurrency platforms froze approximately $3 billion.
